David Bevan comes to Freshwater Fish after a public service career that spanned 39 years. He spent six years as an Assistant Deputy Minister responsible for fisheries and aquaculture management and four years as the Associate Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Oceans Canada. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and an MBA. During his time at DFO he had responsibility for FFMC and was familiar with the governance of the Corporation. He brings that experience to his current role as Chairperson of the Board.

Stan’s professional background and strong organizational, analytical and decision-making skills merge to provide effective fiscal leadership for Freshwater Fish. Interpersonal and communication skills make him the valued leader of the executive team. Stan enjoys the opportunity to work with fishers and employees to contribute to Freshwater Fish’s success today and ensure continued growth in the future.

Dana Gregoire

Dana Gregoire is a lawyer at the firm of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP, where he is engaged in a broad corporate/commercial and securities law practice. He holds Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Manitoba, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Micah Melnyk

Occupation: Consultant for The World Bank

Micah Melnyk is an economic development, market intelligence, and access to finance consultant with The World Bank and other organizations. He has significant experience analyzing/growing markets and enterprises, and developing strategic directions for flagship programming. He holds a B.Sc. in Civil Environmental Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Queen's University, and an MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development, University of Cambridge, UK. He completed the Global Solutions Program at Singularity University, USA.

Vince Crate

Vince Crate is a lifetime commercial fisher from the Fisher River Cree Nation, located in the Manitoba Interlake area on Lake Winnipeg. He holds diplomas in business management and landscaping.  Vince has served on numerous community boards, e.g. Economic Development and Education, the board governing the McBeth Point Station, and previously was a member of the (now-defunct) Lake Winnipeg Co-management Board.  Committed to the good governance of his community, he has worked as an elected Band Councillor for Fisher River for the past 12 years. Some of his portfolios include Health, Social Services, Child & Family Services and the Natural Resources file, which is the Commercial Fishing portfolio for his community.

Tom Colosimo

Occupation: Senior Regional Manager, ITI

Tom Colosimo is a Senior Regional Manager with the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT), working for the Department of Industry, Tourism & Investment. The Department is responsible for small business support and investment, including the fishing sector - Tom brings this experience to Freshwater Fish. He has 38 years of service with the GNWT in various departments and roles.
