Executive Team

All Freshwater Fish operations and corporate decision-making is managed by an Executive Committee.

The Executive works tirelessly to ensure fishers receive the most they can for their catch, customers receive the highest quality wild-caught products possible and our own employees experience the most productive, supportive workplace in the industry.

John Wood – President and Chief Executive Officer

John Wood is an innovative, persuasive and accomplished business executive who delivers results. With strengths and experience in strategic planning, international development, team-building and profit-driving, John leads Freshwater Fish’s management team and also guides all organizational strategy. John has greatly improved the Freshwater Fish compensation and performance systems and also led the installation of various improvements to the organization’s governance process.

 

Stan Lazar – Chief Financial Officer

Stan Lazar is a results-oriented senior executive with extensive financial and operational experience in both national and international organizations. Stan’s professional background and strong organizational, analytical and decision-making skills allow him to provide effective fiscal leadership for Freshwater Fish. Stan enjoys working with fishers and employees to contribute to Freshwater Fish’s success, and his interpersonal and communication skills make him a valued member of the executive team.

 

Paul Cater – Vice-President Sales and Marketing

Paul Cater is a growth-focused marketing professional with more than 25 years experience in selling and marketing branded products. Paul understands markets and how to best position products for success both locally and globally. His keen eye for opportunity has led Freshwater Fish to expand its market extensively, and his marketing team continues to broaden our business around the world.

 

David Northcott – Vice-President Operations

 David Northcott is a senior administrator and team leader in the area of Lean Manufacturing, with a strong background in operations and supply chain management. David’s strong financial planning, analytical, decision-making and communication skills help the Freshwater Fish team work together to achieve its goals and build its business. David oversees all facilities and field management for Freshwater Fish and is focused on motivating team members, while bringing about optimum results in the changing economic climate.

 

Wendy Matheson – Director of Human Resources and Government Services

Wendy Matheson is a senior administrator with more than 20 years progressive experience and expertise in HR Management and federal government services. Wendy enjoys the challenge of understanding unique organizational cultures. As a graduate of Queens University's Labour Relations program and a Registered Professional Recruiter, Wendy identifies and addresses people-related risks, enhances performance and productivity and offers HR initiatives to help Freshwater improve and grow.
